Narrative
Inspired by true events that took place in the rural town of White Plains, Alabama in 1959, Viola tells the story of Viola Hyatt, a 30-year-old woman who takes matters into her own hands after she is raped by two brothers who work on her father’s farm.
Pre-#MeToo, this story revolves around the sexualization and dismissal of women in the face of misogyny and hardship.
